Stacked

A bar chart variant in which each bar is divided into segments, and segments stack on top of each other to form the bar's total. The total length compares totals across categories; segment lengths compare composition within. Use stacked when both totals and parts matter; use 100% stacked when only the proportional split matters. With more than four or five segments, stacked bars become hard to read.
